The IWA database currently [2011] includes information on
a more than 450 women artists who were active in Illinois
between 1840 and 1940. Artists can be searched alphabetically,
by key word or by the medium in which they worked, e.g.
painting, sculpture, illustration, ceramics, printmaking.
The
Iowa Women Artists Project records and preserves the voices
of women artists in Iowa reflecting on their lives and their
artwork. Artists working in all media are included. Each
entry contains a biographical sketch, photographs of their
work, a statement by the artist, and audio clips.
